Set up CrossTrade to stream real-time data from your active trading subscription. Three steps: install the XT add-on, get your Secret Key, and authorize on AI Navigator.
System Requirements
Before You Start
NinjaTrader 8 or Tradovate account: an active account with either platform.
Active data subscription: your platform must have an active real-time data subscription (via your broker or prop firm).
CrossTrade account: free or paid account at crosstrade.io to get your Secret Key.
AI Navigator subscription: any MKT.TRADE tier to access the authorization page.
Step 1: Download and Install the XT Add-On
Install the CrossTrade XT add-on so your trading platform can stream real-time data to AI Navigator.
Download the XT add-on
Go to crosstrade.io and download the CrossTrade XT add-on for NinjaTrader 8 or Tradovate.
Install the add-on in NinjaTrader
Open NinjaTrader 8, go to Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On, and select the downloaded CrossTrade XT file.
Enable the Automated Trading Interface (ATI)
Before restarting NinjaTrader, go to Tools → Settings → Automated Trading Interface and enable it.
Restart NinjaTrader
Close and restart NinjaTrader 8 to complete the installation.
Verify your data connection
Make sure your NinjaTrader or Tradovate account is connected to your active real-time data feed. You should see a green connection status in the CrossTrade panel.
Log in to CrossTrade
In NinjaTrader, log in to your CrossTrade account with your email and password.
Step 2: Get Your Secret Key
Copy your CrossTrade Secret Key from your account. You'll need it to authorize AI Navigator.
Log into CrossTrade
Go to app.crosstrade.io and log in with your email and password.
Find your Secret Key
Click My Account → Security. Your Secret Key is displayed here.
Copy this key and save it securely. You'll paste it into AI Navigator next.
Step 3: Authorize on AI Navigator
Connect to AI Navigator through Claude. An OAuth authorization prompt will appear with the broker connection fields.
Initiate the AI Navigator connection
In Claude, go to your Claude Connector onboarding page and click to connect to AI Navigator. This triggers an OAuth authorization prompt.
Enable live brokerage account data
In the OAuth prompt, check the box for Live brokerage account data (read-only). This is required to stream real-time data and display your account balances.
Select your broker
In the Broker dropdown, select CrossTrade.
Enter your CrossTrade Secret Key
Paste your Secret Key from Step 2 into the CrossTrade Secret Key field.
Complete authorization
Click AUTHORIZE. Once complete, AI Navigator begins pulling real-time data from your active subscription immediately.
What Happens Next
Once connected, your active trading subscriptions flow through AI Navigator. You'll see real-time data, account balances, and positions across all your watched instruments — updated continuously during market hours.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
What is CrossTrade?
CrossTrade is a third-party app that acts as a bridge between your NinjaTrader or Tradovate account and AI Navigator. It securely connects your trading platform's data and account information to real-time analysis in AI Navigator.
Where do I find my CrossTrade Secret Key?
Log into app.crosstrade.io, go to My Account → Security. Your Secret Key is displayed there.
How do I know if my data connection is active?
After authorizing, you should see real-time data updates on your charts within a few seconds. If not, check that the XT add-on status is green in your platform and your data subscription is active.
How often does the data update?
During market hours, data syncs every 1–5 seconds depending on your broker's feed speed. After-hours, sync intervals may extend. You always see the most recent prices and structures available.
Can I add new symbols to my watchlist?
Yes. Once connected, add any symbol from your data feed directly in AI Navigator. Live data streams immediately — no re-authorization needed.
What if I see a red or yellow status in the XT add-on?
The XT add-on isn't connected to your data feed. Check that your broker connection is active and real-time data is enabled in your platform, then restart the XT add-on from the CrossTrade menu.
Do you store my Secret Key?
Yes — AI Navigator encrypts and stores your CrossTrade Secret Key so data can stream continuously. Your broker login credentials are never stored. Only your Secret Key is encrypted and vaulted securely.
Do I need both the XT add-on and AI Navigator?
Yes. The XT add-on runs in your trading platform and connects to your data feed. AI Navigator uses your Secret Key to pull that data into your charts and analysis in real time.
