Tomorrow's employment report lands right in the NQ's monthly opening, and Friday is a short holiday session. That compresses the window — less room to test structure, higher volatility risk, a premium on discipline. The month's first read gets forced into Thursday and a thin Friday behind it.

The Setup

The NQ opened July inside the Critical Range, trading below the Monthly DIR at 30514 — the pivot that sets the month's bias — and holding above the Monthly CR- at 30007, the lower validation level. This is Week 1, but the week ends early. Price action compresses into Thursday's number and the thin Friday behind it.

Three Paths
Scenario 1 — Break below the CR- (30007)

An NFP spike down, thin Friday liquidity accelerating it. Test the Monthly DP at 29500 — the downside pivot — then 29266. A break under 29300 that holds opens the R-Level at 27801, the sentiment floor where buyers step in. A Friday close down here defines July's character.

Scenario 2 — Hold the range, 30007–31140 · most likely

Rotation between the CR- and the Monthly CR+ at 31140, the upper validation level, compressed into a session and a half. The rotation stays intact, just with less time to resolve. Strength rejects at the CR+; basing there puts the Monthly UP at 31766 — the upside pivot — in play for Week 2.

Scenario 3 — Reclaim the DIR (30514)

Flips to a recovery bias. Targets the CR+ at 31140, then the PMH (Previous Month High) and the UP at 31766. It requires holding the DP+AD at 29660 — the Alert Distance boundary above the downside pivot — on any dip. A Friday close above 30514 confirms the setup into next week.

Discipline

The 30514 DIR is the pivot — above it, recovery; below it, corrective. The 30007 CR- is the make-or-break line, and it carries the most weight on a thin Friday when liquidity is light. Above 31140, strength rejects and rotation traps set on low volume. The short Friday session compresses the whole test and carries gap risk into Monday's open. And the monthly tell: a month low above 29900 points to a rotational July; below 29900, the downside structure is real.

Bottom Line

This is a compressed test. Thursday's NFP into Friday's thin session will confirm or break the structure fast. Let it play — the Friday close defines the next two weeks.

Structure first. Let price dictate action.
